Melissa and Colin - August 4, 2006

On Friday, I was tasked with the ceremony and formal shoot of Colin and Melissa's wedding. By the time I left Edmonton, rain was falling in buckets. A little bit of drizzle isn't much of a problem but this was the type of rain that made short work of wedding dresses and camera equipment.

Fortunately, Colin's parents own a beautiful home on a small farm east of Leduc. The living room was quite photogenic and allowed us to shoot alot of the formals under the protection of a ceiling.

The ceremony took place in a cozy little country church. The couple exchanged their vows with loving smiles in front of a crowd of family and friends. Below, Colin and Melissa exit arm in arm.

After the ceremony the rain let up. Despite a very wet ground and a formidably cool and brisk wind, we shot a few outdoor formals before heading to the Leduc Civic Center for a few more indoor shots.

Though the weather wasn't ideal, this couple persisted and enjoyed the day in laid back fashion. Congratulations Colin and Melissa! I'll keep my fingers crossed that your week long honeymoon brings you great weather and continued happy memories.
