Angie and Mark - October 8, 2006

Yesterday I had the special privilege of shooting the wedding of a friend. Having grown up in the same neighbourhood and maintaining a friendship with the bride and her family for many years, I was elated that they'd ask me to provide for her wedding photography. As the day unfolded, there was lots of laughter, tears, and, more than anything, happiness.

Angie got ready for her big day at her parent's house along with her bridesmaids and family.

With a little help from her mother Anna, Angie gets into her dress.

Once the ladies were ready to go, we headed to Richmon Park Church for the ceremony. Angie was escorted down the isle by both parents.

Here, the young couple share a smile as they take their vows.

The deal is sealed with a kiss.

After the ceremony, we proceeded to the Muttart Conservatory where we did some formals both outdoors and in.

The beautiful bride poses for a portrait.

The reception was held at the Meridian Conference center on Edmonton's east end. The place was beautifully decorated (Angie's mom may have had something to do with that) and the cake was beautiful - the best I've seen this year.

Mark sneaks a kiss in behind Angie's bouquet.

The newlyweds share a loving first dance in front of a happy crowd.

Just prior to the dancing, Angie gave a beautiful speech thanking her parents for everything they'd done - dry eyes were hard to come by at the Meridian. With emotions heightened, Angie and her father Angelo shared one of the most touching father/daughter dances I've witnessed.

Anna insisted that Mark be blindfolded when he went hunting for the garter. Little did he know that they'd pull a switcheroo on him, having Angie sit on the lap of Mark's best man. What exactly did you find under there, Mark?

Thanks for letting me capture your day, Angie and Mark. I wish you all the happiness in the world. Cheers!
