Kari and Rene - August 5, 2006
On Saturday, I had the privilege of shooting Kari and Rene's wedding day from start until finish. With the help of some ideal weather, a fun group of family and friends, and some lovely venues, a great time was had by all.
Bridal preparation began at Rita's Hair Design in St. Alberta at 8:30 am. Below, Kari has her veil attached for the day.
Once Kari and all of her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done, we headed to her parent's place so the ladies could dawn their dresses. This is Kari in her mother's room a few minutes before we left for the ceremony.
The ceremony was held in the Stanley Milner Theatre in downtown Edmonton. The lighting was dramatic and quite photogenic.
After a very emotional exchance of personal vows (I might've had something in my eye as it was going on), Rene wasted no time in sealing the deal with his lovely bride.
Once the ceremony finished, the wedding party and various family members paraded out from the theatre into Sir Winston Churchill square. We shot a few formals there and in front of city hall before heading to the Muttart Conservatory and Royal Museum grounds for more photos.
The reception was held at the Executive Royal Inn on the west end of the city. Everyone in attendance truly wanted to celebrate the wedding - it didn't take long for a great party to break out. Below, Rene lifts his bride and plants a kiss while the crowd applauds.
As the couple shared their first dance, it was easy to see the love these newlyweds felt for each other.
Congratulations you two and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to record your special day. Your wedding was wonderful event and your marriage will be no less spectacular.
