Caroline and Ron - October 14, 2006

After Friday the 13th comes Saturday the 14th and this particular Saturday had Ron and Carrie - both who reside in Calgary - exchanging their vows in Edmonton. This was one of the most easy going and pleasant couples I've worked with - and their love for each other was worn on their sleeves.

We did a few formals first thing in the morning prior to the ceremony. As the day started with a thick coating of fog and chilly temperatures, we elected to do some of the shooting in the warmth of Edmonton's downtown core after beginning at the legislature.

Ron and Carrie flash each other a smile in sepia.

The wedding party struts their stuff down 103 Street.

The handsome wedding party looks up ... wayyyyyy up.

The gang chats it up in Manulife Place.

We soon headed to St. Paul's Anglican Church for the afternoon ceremony. Both the church and proceeding's were beautiful.

Another happy couple is united in matrimony.

After the ceremony, we headed for Irene Parlby Park for some additional formals. The newlyweds share a moment amongst the autumn colours.

This has to be my funniest shot of the year. I'd lined the wedding party up and instructed them to run toward me when I counted down to one. Kyle, Ron's brother and a groomsman, apparently didn't check the flight plan from his position to mine. When I reached one on the count, they started running - Kyle directly into the low hanging branches in front of him. Fortunately, no groomsmen were actually hurt in the making of this photograph.

The reception was held at the Salvation Army center in St. Albert. Though it was abbreviated (consisting of dinner and speeches), it was no less emotional and fun. The cake cutting was a family affair, consisting of not just Ron and Carrie, but Ron's daughter Minnie.

Our tree chargin groomsman - Kyle - had the crowd choking with laughter during his toast to the groom.

Ron and Carrie, you two were one of the most laid back couples I'd ever worked with. Your love for each other is wonderfully evident and your family is destined to be happy. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Cheers!
