Holly and Brian - July 29, 2006

Sometimes wedding shoots are pure fun. Mix a laid back, happy couple who are intent on enjoying their wedding day with a light hearted wedding party and you get just that. Neither Holly nor Brian showed the slightest hint of stress today. What's more, they were complimented by a cast of bridesmaids and groomsmen who refused to have anything but a good time.

After Holly and Brian exchanged vows in the afternoon, we headed to both Irene Parlby park and the Muttart Conservatory grounds for some formal shooting. The sky was cloudy which is a great thing for mid-afternoon shooting - no tonality issues, washed out colours, or deep shadows to worry about.

Holly and Brian - congratulations. I wish you all the best now and in the future. And to your wedding party - you're all whacky. And I love it.

Amanda and Brent - July 15, 2006

On Saturday, I travelled to Bentley, Alberta, where Brent exchanged vows with his beautiful bride Amanada. While being quite small, Bentley is a town full of character and friendly small town atmosphere. As Brent grew up there, it made the perfect location for his wedding.

The ceremony itself took place in a cozy church filled with happy friends and family.

After a touching ceremony where Amanda and Brent exchanged their own heartfelt vows, we headed out to nearby canola field that was sporting a full bloom. While not being a typical formal photography venue, the sea of yellow added an extra, attractive dynamic to the photos and gave them a definitive Bentley feel.

Later, we drove out to another country church nearby for some more formals (including this loving kiss below) before returning to the town.

Honks and cheers were heard from passing vehicles as they drove by the ladies who strutted their stuff along mainstreet Bentley.

Besides being great fun, you, Amanda and Brent are very obviously filled with love for each other - shooting your wedding was truly a privilege. Your marriage is destined to be a long and happy one - congratulations to both of you.

Aileen and Craig - July 8, 2006

Another hot, sunny day graced Edmonton last Saturday for the wedding of Aileen and Craig. After a lovely ceremony, we headed off to the Royal Alberta Museum for the formal shoot before enjoying the reception at the Coast Terrace Inn.

The museum grounds were busy! In fact, this was as busy as I'd ever seen it with an estimated 10 other wedding parties there for formals. The photogenic location is just too hard to resist for many couples. Despite the abundance of couples, we managed some great shots around the periphery while waiting our turn on -the stairs-.

It was a pleasure working with both the bride and groom who were relaxed and enjoying the day as it came. Craig and Aileen - I wish you a happy marriage for years to come and thank you for making me a part of your special day.

Lisa and Jarett - July 2, 2006

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Lisa and Jarett. The shot above was taken just before sunset on the day of the event at the couple's reception venue - the Lakeshore Golf Course. Besides providing lovely, photogenic light, the setting of the sun provided a welcomed drop in temperature after a scorching day.

Check out these beautiful ladies - sorry guys, you'll get no contact information from me. Although it was hot, the Fort Saskatchewan Museum provided a few shady spots for us to avoid the blistering sun as well as some interesting antiquated buildings to shoot formals around.

The lovely bride Lisa sported a killer smile and was relaxed and easy to work with. Her husband, Jarett, was cool as ice through the day - even succeeding the first dance with a decidely rap tribute to Lisa (check the main website gallery for a shot of this - it was great).

Congratulations to both of you! The love and depth of your relationship was very evident in your interactions throughout the day. On the PhotoAlberta.ca marriage-o-meter, this one definately scores a ten.
